AS A HOST
As a Host, ShareYaSpace offers you the opportunity to share your Space with our vibrant community of Guests, and earn money doing it.
It’s easy to create a Listing and you are in control of ‘how’ you Host i.e. set your price, availability, and rules for each Listing. All you need to do is to click on Become A Host, sign-up, and provide all the information required.
The ShareYaSpace Platform provides tools that make it easy for you to set up and manage a Listing. Your Listing must include complete and accurate information about your Space, your price, amenities, and any rules or requirements that apply to your Guests or Listing.
NB: The location and booking information provided for the Listing should be accurate such as address and amenities.
You are responsible for keeping your Listing information (including calendar availability) and content (like photos) up-to-date and accurate at all times. You may List as many Spaces, if it has multiple Spaces.
As a Host you will receive and use Guests’ personal information to manage your reservations. You are responsible for complying with applicable privacy laws when you handle and process personal information. You should only use your personal information you receive through the ShareYaSpace Platform as necessary to manage your reservations and deliver better service.
Hosts have full autonomy over their Listings’ categorizations and features, and over the amenities, they would like to offer to Guests.
ShareYaSpace requires that all Listing categorizations, features, and amenities detailed on the Listing page at the time of booking accurately reflect the categorizations, features, and amenities present at the Listing.
We encourage Hosts to clearly outline expectations for Guests in their Listing descriptions, through ShareYaSpace messaging system.
In the interest of Guest safety, satisfaction, and comfort, ShareYaSpace requires that all Hosts provide Listings that meet a minimum standard of health and safety.
Hosts have full autonomy over their Listings’ categorizations and features, and over the amenities, they would like to offer to Guests.

Your relationship with ShareYaSpace is that of an independent individual or entity and not an employee, agent, joint venturer, or partner of ShareYaSpace, except that ShareYaSpace Payments acts as a payment collection agent.
ShareYaSpace does not direct or control your Host Service, and you agree that you have complete discretion whether and when to provide Host Services, and at what price, and on what terms to offer them.
When you accept a booking request, or receive a booking confirmation through the ShareYaSpace Platform, you are entering into a contract directly with the Guest, and are responsible for delivering your Host Service under the terms and at the price specified in your Listing.
You are also agreeing to pay the applicable commission for each booking. ShareYaSpace Payments will deduct amounts you owe from your payout.
You are responsible for understanding and complying with any laws, rules, regulations, and contracts with third parties that apply to your Listing. For example, some landlords or homeowners restrict or prohibit subletting, short-term rentals, and/or longer-term stays.
As a Host, you are responsible for handling and using the personal data of Guests and others in compliance with applicable privacy laws and these Terms.
Yes, we have a ranking of Space Listing.
The ranking of Listings in search results on the ShareYaSpace Platform depends on a variety of factors, such as:
- Listing characteristics (e.g. price, calendar availability, number and quality of images, Reviews, type of Host Service, Host status, age of the Listing, average Guest popularity).
- Guest booking experience (e.g. customer service and cancellation history of the Host, ease of booking), and
- Guest preferences (e.g. previous trips, saved Listings, the location from where the Guest is searching).
NB: ShareYaSpace may allow Hosts to promote their Listings in search or elsewhere on the ShareYaSpace Platform by paying an additional fee.
As a Host, you should not cancel on a Guest without a valid reason. If you cancel on a Guest without a valid (and verifiable) reason, we may impose a cancellation fee on you, and other consequences that will be determined by ShareYaSpace.
Yes, you can. But if you terminate your ShareYaSpace account, any confirmed booking(s) will be automatically cancelled and your Guests will receive a full refund.
To help create comfortable, reliable stays for Guests, we ask all Hosts to meet these basic requirements for each Listing:
- Be responsive: Maintain a high response rate by replying to booking inquiries and reservation requests within 24 hours.
- Accept reservation requests: Make Guests feel welcome by accepting requests whenever you’re available.
- Avoid cancellations: We take cancellations seriously and ask all Hosts to avoid cancelling on Guests as their travel and business plans depend on it.
- Maintain a high overall rating: Guests like to know they can expect a consistent level of quality, no matter where they book.
We encourage Host to always communicate with ShareYaSpace’s messaging system. Always use ShareYaSpace’s messaging system to get to know your Guests and share expectations about the Space.
Once someone books, you can use ShareYaSpace’s messaging system to introduce yourself and help your Guests feel welcome and prepared. Let them know that you’re available to answer any questions.
Read profiles and reviews of your potential Guests, and look for, connected social networks, and references.
NB: Trust your intuition: If you don’t feel right about a reservation, don’t accept it.
We encourage Hosts to have Space Usage Rules (SUP) that will helps Guests know what to expect. This will include anything you’d like people to know before they book—for example, whether (or where) smoking is allowed, and so on.
ShareYaSpace welcomes many different kinds of Listings on our Platform as long as they meet the following criteria:
- The Space is only used for lodging, office, bed Space, warehouse, open Space, etc.
- The Space is accurately represented, located where the Host says it is, and is bookable by the Guest.
NB: If we discover a Listing that doesn’t meet our guidelines, we may exercise our discretion to limit, suspend, deactivate, or cancel the Host's account.
To help ShareYaSpace run smoothly and to cover the costs of the products and services we provide, like 24/7 customer support, we charge a service fee when a booking is confirmed.
A service fee or commission is deducted from the Host payout, and a service fee is charged to Guests. Most Hosts pay a service fee of 8%, This fee is calculated from the booking subtotal and is automatically deducted from the Host payout.
NB: The service fee will include these VAT charges of 7.5% where applicable.
AS A GUEST
We ask everyone who uses ShareYaSpace for a few pieces of information before they book on ShareYaSpace. Guests need to have their personal information filled out before they can make a reservation request. This information helps make sure Hosts know who to expect, and how to contact the Guest.
ShareYaSpace’s requirements for Guests include Full name, Email address, Confirmed phone number, and Payment information.
If you are a Guest whose Host is keeping to the terms of your staying in his or her Space, we ask that you:
- Communicate with your Host—they're in the best position to ensure a quick resolution.
- Document the issue through ShareYaSpace message thread correspondence or send via ShareYaSpace complaint email.
- Leave an honest review with feedback so that the Host can improve for future Guests.
You can use our search filters to find the Space that you want.
We always encourage you to go through feedback from past Guests who have stayed there to help find the right fit for you.
Our secure messaging system is a safe and easy way for you to ask a potential Host any questions you have before you book.
After booking, you can also message your Host to coordinate check-in, ask additional questions, and keep in touch with him or her as may be necessary.
Messaging on ShareYaSpace starts when a Guest makes enquiries. All messages related to that enquiry or reservation request will appear in your inbox.
Before booking on ShareYaSpace, we ask everyone who uses ShareYaSpace for a few pieces of information, such as your full name, email address, phone number, and payment details.
Yes. Guests who stay in Listings on ShareYaSpace must respect Hosts’ rules.
We expect Guests to respect the Space rules that comply with ShareYaSpace’s Terms of Service and company policies and inquire with the Host if they have questions before booking a reservation.
Always book and pay for your reservation directly through ShareYaSpace. Paying and communicating through ShareYaSpace helps ensure that you are protected. Never pay outside of ShareYaSpace Platform.
Paying or communicating outside of ShareYaSpace also makes it harder for us to protect your information and puts you at greater risk of fraud and other security issues.
NB: Hosts won’t see Guest’s email addresses, even after they book. Instead, messages sent through ShareYaSpace are automatically emailed to the Guest.
Yes, you can cancel your book in extreme cases.
We may be able to give you a refund if you have to cancel because of an unexpected (and extenuating) circumstance that’s out of your control such as illness, political unrest, natural disaster, travel or movement restrictions imposed by a government, to or from the Listing location, etc. However, you may have to provide official proof, where applicable.
If you terminate your account as a Guest, any confirmed booking(s) will be automatically cancelled. If your reservation falls under a recognized extenuating circumstance, you’ll get a full refund if you’re a Guest.
NB: If you have to cancel because of an unexpected circumstance that’s out of your control, we may be able to give you a refund or waive the cancellation penalties. Our extenuating circumstances policy is intended to protect you from unforeseen circumstances that arise after booking.
To help ShareYaSpace run smoothly and to cover the costs of the products and services we provide, like 24/7 customer support, we charge a service fee when a booking is confirmed.
Most Guests pay a service fee that is 4% of the booking subtotal (where applicable, but excluding taxes).
NB: The service fee will include these VAT charges of 7.5% where applicable.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to keep health and safety in mind. We’ve created a set of mandatory COVID-19 safety practices for both Hosts and Guests of ShareYaSpace Listings, based on guidance from the World Health Organization.
All Hosts and Guests must wear a mask and practice social distancing, and wash their hands regularly.
